We’re three weeks into 2014. How are your resolutions stacking up?
How many times have you made resolutions you can’t keep? Sometimes they’re too grand, too extreme, and too unattainable to be realistic and achievable. It’s easy to set one’s sights on a big goal but not have the tools to build the small blocks needed to achieve the ultimate goal. If you need some tips to make those reso’s stick, check out Social Incites’ tried-and-true methods below.
1. Sunday Nights are For Planning: Take 20 minutes to sit down with your calendar and plot out your week. Seeing things in writing means they’re more likely to happen. Don’t be afraid to get really specific – i.e. “30 minute brainstorm session for blog ideas” is totally acceptable to get you started!
2. Make Mondays Matter: Set the tone for your week with a super-productive Monday. Dive in headfirst and really make the first day of the week count with a can-do attitude and gusto for productive greatness.
3. Find and Quell Distractions and Weaknesses: Know what can derail your productivity. For example, I get hungry at 10 am and have a complete and epic shutdown until I have a snack. I know this, so I combat it by bringing a small snack and taking 10 minutes to refocus myself. After that mini-break, I’m ready to keep tackling the day.
4. Just Do It: Once it’s on the calendar, put it in action! Make that cold call. Write that email. Post that magnum opus of a blog post you’ve been working on for days.
Accomplishing goals gives us the warm fuzzies, so build on that for your future goals.
